The Year 11 boys put in a strong and determined performance despite a narrow 1–0 loss to a well-organised OSSMA side. From the first whistle, the team showed real maturity, discipline, and teamwork, demonstrating just how far they have come over the season. OSSMA proved to be tough opponents, but our lads rose to the challenge, matching their intensity and showing confidence on and off the ball. Although the result didn't go our way, the effort, commitment, and spirit displayed were outstanding. Every player represented the school with pride, respect, and a fantastic attitudequalities that matter far more than the scoreline. Their improvement is clear for all to see, and the way they supported each other throughout the game was truly impressive. Well done, boys. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves and the example you continue to set. Mr Tomlinson #ThistleyHoughAcademy #CreativeEducationTrust

The Year 7 girls enjoyed an exciting and memorable trip to Stoke City. They began the afternoon with a fun and engaging classroom workshop, learning new skills and working together as a team. After that, they took part in a carousel of activities, giving everyone the chance to try something different and get involved. The evening concluded with the girls getting to watch the Stoke match, soaking up the atmosphere in the stadium. There was even an amazing opportunity for one of the girls to take penalties on the pitch at half time, which made the day extra special. Overall, the girls had a fantastic time and created brilliant memories. Mr McIntyre #ThistleyHoughAcademy #CreativeEducationTrust

Our Year 8 girls have continued their impressive journey in the England Schools Cup, securing their place in the fourth round with a confident and well-deserved 3–0 victory. From the first whistle, the team showed outstanding determination, composure, and togetherness, setting the tone for a performance. Defensively, the girls were disciplined and organised, shutting down attacks with smart positioning and excellent communication. Their resilience at the back allowed them to build momentum and play with confidence going forward. In midfield, they controlled the tempo brilliantly, linking play with maturity beyond their years and constantly driving the team into dangerous areas. The attacking display was equally impressive. Clinical finishing, clever movement, and a willingness to take risks helped secure the goals that ultimately made the difference. Every player contributed, whether through creativity, hard work off the ball, or relentless energy that kept the opposition on the back foot. Most importantly, the girls showed incredible team spirit. Their encouragement of one another, their focus, and their belief in their collective ability truly stood out. This 3–0 win is not just a score lineit reflects their progress, commitment, and growing confidence. The fourth round awaits, and the team heads into it with real momentum and excitement. Goals from Isabelle Johnson and Elsa Jukes x2. Mr Tomlinson #ThistleyHoughAcademy #CreativeEducationTrust
